Violinist
Teaching Artist
Storyteller
I view the violin not merely as an instrument, but as a vessel for testimony and a catalyst for collective change. My work exists at the intersection of rigorous classical tradition and radical social advocacy. I am dedicated to creating immersive, multi-sensory experiences that dismantle the distance between the archive and the audience—fostering deep connection through shared vulnerability and the reclamation of silenced narratives.
I believe the most transformative art happens in the "third space" between disciplines…
For Creators: If you are a writer, composer, dancer, or visual artist seeking a sonic partner to explore themes of memory, resilience, or social justice, let us begin a conversation. I am actively seeking projects that challenge the formal stage and embrace experimental, multi-disciplinary authorship.
For Violin Lovers: If you are seeking to begin or deepen your journey with the violin, I welcome you to a studio environment rooted in technical excellence and emotional expression. I have a particular interest in working with adult learners and those navigating injury or technical transitions.
For the Community: To inquire about performances, workshops, or joining the Kalamazoo Violin Choir, please reach out. Together, we can bring a new color and tone to our community’s live music landscape!
The Mission Behind the Music
As a violinist, educator, and immigrant from Iran, I possess a deep-rooted passion for leveraging music as a catalyst for social change. My background has instilled in me a profound appreciation for the power of sound to break down barriers and create opportunities for all.
Through my expertise in innovative performance and music education, I lead the Kalamazoo Violin Choir toward its goals of empowering young musicians and promoting cultural understanding. I am driven by the belief that a combination of youth, music, stories, and diverse cultures creates performances that strengthen our community and bring us closer together.
